May 2023 - An AWESOME Month! - A Mooseful Month!

I encountered an above normal number of moose related things in the month of May.  As a moose fan this made me very happy.

It started in Homer.

During the first week in May we were in Homer for the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival.  Terri and Lee opened up their Homer home to us. I just KNOW that Terri had this mug there just for me! Morning coffee tastes extra good when served in a moose mug.

This mural was outside the main entrance to Captain Pattie's Fish House.

This mosaic is on the floor of the Homer Visitors Center.

I met this lovely lady at the Visitor Center.

Moose sightings continued while on the Cruise:

This moose came on board the Sapphire Princess!

I saw and had to have this pin at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum.

I met this moose in a store in Ketchikan.

Moose Pass!  (and Seward).

After the cruise we took an overnight trip to Seward.  The route took us through Moose Pass.  The Moose Drop Inn is home of Morris the Talking Moose.  Had to stop!

Morris and I had a very interesting conversation.

Saw this in Seward.  Betty and Kate convinced me to purchase it.  I admit it didn't take much convincing.

Anchorage.

On several trips to Moose's Tooth Pub and Pizzaria I'd thought about purchasing one of the plates.  I love the moose silhouette.  I finally did it when we went for pizza while John and Kate were here.

Betty, John, Kate and I met Pat and Carol at the Anchorage Distillery.   My drink was served in this cup.

And the Grand Finale at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.

I was able to spend time with Arnold, my adopted moose.  (Don't you dare laugh at his antlers!  He is just beginning to grow a new pair.  His antlers will grow up to an inch a day!).
